I think I have misunderstood what the game means when it says that anything on a named list is subjected to both the protection and perils of the affordances and constraints. I'd love help understanding further.
Protections I understand, but I still would love to hear more from others about what perils that implies. The main peril I see is that naming something invites others to bring it into the spotlight, which means threatening it with the potential for loss or alteration. Really though, since it is also protected, that mainly means that everyone is encouraged to offer each other opportunities to decide that their own named things are lost or altered. In my mind, that only implies an illusion of peril though, so maybe I still don't understand. :)

I definitely want to understand the peril faced by anything deserving of a name though, since adding and removing items from named lists is featuring heavily in the long-game aspects of my reskin seeking the desperate yet triumphant flavor of Independence Day / XCOM / underdogs vs superior threats / Elder Evils / etc.
