Sunday Morning Swords: 27 August 2017

#HouseFullOfBasilEdition

Good morning!

Here's our organizational thread for #SundayAMSwords. All are welcome regardless of familiarity with the game! Comment below if you're interested in playing this morning and mention if you're comfortable being an Overplayer and whether or not you have play Swords before.

When we get an Overplayer and three or four Rogue Players, those players will run off and start their hangout. For now, let's focus on getting everyone into a group. We'll probably wait until 9:30 EDT to start the last group. If you can't make that, check back in a few hours.Occasionally there are other games firing up later in the day for those who wake at a more civilized time. If you don't see one, feel free to fire on up yourself.

Use the hashtag #SundayAMSwords should you desire to chat about your game on the social medias. And bring your breakfast or brunch. Adventurers need their sustenance! And coffee.

P.S. Got some tips on how to do this and links to useful files here: http://www.worldswithoutmaster.com/blog/2014/7/14/sunday-morning-swords

So I made a thing...

So I made a thing...

It's a dice roller that creates a custom URL for your "room." You can then send that to the friends you are playing with and you can all watch/use the same dice at the same time... You can move the dice around real-time, group them, delete some or all of them, reroll some of them, etc. (It should make playing games like Dogs in the Vineyard and In A Wicked Age easier...)

I think it would work great for Swords Without Master too. My reasoning being that you can create labels which you could have for each character and the Overplayer. You could put those around the screen and then just have the two dice get moved around between the labels depending on who was "holding" them...

Other cool things it does:

* Supports open (ie not hidden) playing card draws (no jokers though)
* Safety Tools! Buttons for using John Stavropoulos' X-Card and Brie Sheldon's Script Change tools
* Double click already rolled dice to reroll them (perfect for SWM)
* Set a background image (great for maps or play mats or eidilons!)
* See totals of last rolled dice and of all dice on the table

It is still very much in beta, so if you run into issues, take a look at https://github.com/shanel/roller/issues to see if your problem is there, and if not log it!

If you get some use out of the site please consider making a donation to http://www.shantibhavanchildren.org/

Happy rolling!
