A question came up, could you please help me sort it out?
A stranger is OPing for me and my friends in PbP. During play I raised my character unstated 'power level' to be able to beat his enemies because the situation looked diresome (the rogues against a whole city state). The OP did the same because he felt that we are slaying our enemies like flies. We basically tried to match each other a couple of times and this created a frustrating loop. We realized this conflict of agendas but could find any written principles on what to do and how to solve this problem.
I've always thought that in the end rogue players have nearly full control of what is weaker and what is stronger than them. I played a shitload of Sw/oM but I'm not sure if I say this from a flawed conviction.

The Dread Geas of Duke Vulku worked great in the Ravenloft setting. Beforehand the Ravenloft thing was just an excuse to run a dirty hippy game at an D&D event, but after I rolled up 3 encounters with heavy themes of youth, skin and pain I realized that maybe Vulku is a cursed Darklord on an everlasting quest to reach the tome-tomb...

Yesterday i played in a Twilight of Gods/Ragnarok themed Sw/oM game. We played gods fighting against some unknown force which tried to destroy Everything. IMHO the best Moral ever: 'Reincarnating as Cthulhu is a very bad idea.'

I recently ran a bunch of #Swordswithoutmasters sessions. One was set in Shadowrun's Awakening, another in the classic hungarian rpg world Ynev, and they worked great because they are adventure games. The system also worked well without any modification in an office rampage/falling down concept based on this video: https://youtu.be/xSXHH1VV6xo.
Even a Arthur C. Clarkeish first contact game was succesful. It's very far from the s&s concept, and the system was grinding a bit but still, the results were imho better and more clarkeian then any trad game.
Also #Wolfspell . I wintered it again, this time it's became a horror story where the young tribesmen turned themselves into wolves to avenge their killed nephew. At one point the most spiritual wolf was at the top of a frozen lake and it's player asked, "Can I find a ghost of drowned here?' and I replied 'Yes, you can'. And then he followed: 'With my mystic power I want to bend the world. I want the full moon to mesmerisingly shine upon the corpse under the ice so everyone who looks at it will freeze in terror.' And oh man, he did it!

1.
1. In #InvisibleEmpire you have as many Favor (~Motif) cards as there are players, but you must discard one of them when a character receives a black mark of displeasure. When rolling you have around 25% chance for this if I'm right.
Because of this rule our session was extremely quick, around 25 minutes long. We greatly enjoyed it but had little time to explore our ideas and characters. Did we use the rules correctly? One player mentioned that it would be really cool if a black mark would only discard the last slot in the last Favor card. I'm not sure. I also realize that the session would be longer if we'd have more then 3 players. What do you think?
2. The kids in my class loved #SorceressBloodySorceress and they wanna play more! I realized that in Judgement phase it is important to point out to the sorceress player that the order of her questions determines the probability of being the guilty guest:
0: ~17%
1: ~28%
2: ~22%
3: ~17%
4: ~11%
5: ~05%
3. Also I had a fun last night with a plain no-hackie #SwordsWithoutMaster session. Oh, the joy of playing a magic user and describing spellcasting without rules restrictions is priceless!

Character for the 'Shades Without Mirror' hack for Friday night.
Character for the 'Shades Without Mirror' hack for Friday night.
KYLIE COLOGNE
My eidolon is this videoclip. Especially the guy with the silencer from 0:40.
All that is Named
YuanMei Synergy - The biggest asian corporate in beauty industry. They financed his 'pheromonsexual' transformation and revitalized/replaced his old body. Now they own him and use him as a special way of advertisement.
Olympus Rex - Kylie's good old flashy limo. He used to remember the name of his drivers but after so many changes he just doesnt give a shit.
Visage Otaku Konglomerate - after exiting from the music industry and emigrating from the eurolands Kylie lost his slowly aging fanbase but among a bodysculpting subculture now he has a strong underground cult following. His biggest fan is a weird but friendly guy called Lord Cher.
Hack
Street - he pulls off his idiosyncratic mask and loudly inhales the smell of the streets.
Corporate - pheromones squirts from his artificial pores and flashy YuanMei ads sweep through his billboard surfaces as he reaches inside his extragant robe.
Edges
Locus - a surreal car chase with an awesome party in his limo.

I've wanted to make a game about a silent emperor for a long time!
I've wanted to make a game about a silent emperor for a long time! And now #InvisibleEmpire is here. And it's awesome! (awful?)
But i need some help:
> Page 27 says: 'when you have the dice you have the opportunity to reincorporate a Favor or a Secret.'
> Page 28 says: 'You need not roll the dice to reincorporate and may do so while answering a loaded question from another player’s testimony.'
How to interpret these? When I answer loaded questions I dont have the dice, right?

There are these wonderful short games, Sorceress Bloody Sorceress, Invisible Empire and maybe even Wolfspell.
There are these wonderful short games, Sorceress Bloody Sorceress, Invisible Empire and maybe even Wolfspell. Is there an official name for them? Are these considered to be Sw/oM hacks? Or Monkeydome descendants? :)
