In the "City of Dreams" adventure module, it looks like there's some text missing near the end of page 3.  The "Trick of the Ill Fate" for Oshi Nimble-Fingers has only "Sorceresses take stealing very personally." and stops there.  That's evocative, but not as detailed as the other tricks provided.  Is that all there is, or am I missing something?

I'm running SWM in a couple of months at a con here in Houston.  I'm wondering: is 4 rogues too many for first timers at a con?  Any experienced input is appreciated.  Thanks!

So, let me finish my Ligurian Trilogy then, with a song.
(this is all Ezio Melega's fault, btw)

Songs can be Eidolons... and this song in a way is the eidolon for something that is a combination of culture, people, land, sea... not simply Ligurian, but more generally mediterranean.

Try to listen to it: the instruments are very deliberately a mix from the mediterranean, the language... is Genoan (Genovese Ligurian) and a pretty archaic and difficult version of it. I grew up in western Liguria and have a very hard time understanding this song. To an Italian it is completely unintelligible, save for some words here and there.

This English translation isn't frankly that good, but you can glimpse some of the themes and meanings.
http://lyricstranslate.com/en/creuza-de-mae-mule-sea.html

It is a sequence of images, of flashes, that describe some sailors coming ashore to rest, to eat, but they are uneasy with people that are not of the sea, and in the end they must go back. It is a metaphor of life, in more than a way.

Oh and at the end, those loud shoutings? Those emulate two fishmongers competing in selling their wares in a street market.

Anyway... I fear it's impossible for me to communicate across two languages how deep this song speaks to me and to many others.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq1wJcQlDZY

...and another pic of a real place you can visit in the westernmost part of Liguria, "Dolceacqua".

...and another pic of a real place you can visit in the westernmost part of Liguria, "Dolceacqua". Even the name sounds like a fantasy place (Sweetwater).

That bridge is roughly 600 years old and still in use.

Speaking of Eidolon-worthy landscapes.

Speaking of Eidolon-worthy landscapes... it just struck me that I basically grew up in one and that it's probably not that known abroad.

I present you, a carruggio, the narrow alley typical of my native Liguria's little villages, where the hills are steep and the houses have accreted one over the others over the centuries, making the alleys even narrower and requiring the buildings to sustain one-another to avoid falling over.

This would make a wonderful eidolon for a rogue or a tale.

A friend of mine is going back to drawing after a long break. He's never happy about what he does. I say it's quite a good eidolon.

Richard Rider: Nova Prime

Richard Rider: Nova Prime

For the June #RogueChallenge

All that deserves a name

The Xandarian Worldmind: the sum of the knowledge of a dying people, it lives in Nova's helm, talking to him, teaching, helping and sometimes arguing.

The Nova Armor: the badge of his office in an army that no longer exists, Richard's armor has been imbued with the energy, and the spirit of all his fallen comrades in a last act of defiant sorcery right on the verge of destruction. He wields tremendous power and can level mountains with a blast of magic. But can he avoid becoming another power crazed monster?

Feats Heroic

Jovial: with a roar of rage and triumph, you let the Nova energy blast from your whole body, in an explosion of light and destruction, your foes thrown back and battered.

Glum: the ornaments on your armor glow eerily, while the Worldmind whispers wise teachings only you can hear, giving you the tactical advantage.

Trick

Inevitable Foe: Power currupts, and you hold the summed power of a whole people of Guardians. Once per game, you may demand that the new phase is a Perilous one and the Storm is your Power's corrupting influence over you and the consequences on your comrades.

So, it seems I will be a guinea pig of sorts as I am running SwM Friday for either 7 (!) or 8 (!!) PCs.

So, it seems I will be a guinea pig of sorts as I am running SwM Friday for either 7 (!) or 8 (!!) PCs. To make it even more challenging/likely to be a debacle I'm making pregens AND it's my first time running the game. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG? On the flip side it's a house con and I'll be blessed with outstanding players. So it seems I'm heading toward either a complete disaster or extreme awesomeness. In any case, here's an eidolon. The PC is a warrior who, rather than carrying a weapon, likes to grab whatever he can find and use that.

Another one for the June Rogue challenge!

Another one for the June Rogue challenge!

Morbius, the Living Vampire

All That Deserves a Name

The Blood Plague - The swept through his village, killing everyone he knew and infecting him. Causes one to bleed from all orifices until dead.

The Dead Library of Sangos - The lost library he dragged himself to in order to find a cure for his plague. He read the old tomes, raided the old overgrown garden for herbs, and mixed a potion that rid him of the plague but filled him with a thirst for blood.

Saint Amada - A living saint, kept a crowd of people from destroying Morbius. Believes he has a destiny that will change the world for the better.

Feats Heroic

Jovial - Blood sprays through the air, splattering all over Morbius and pouring into his mouth.

Glum - His black cape flaps in the darkness.

Trick
Destiny - Blood red sun. A giant statue containing the crypt of a dead king. An ancient darkness fading away.

My humble submission for June's #RogueChallenge

My humble submission for June's  #RogueChallenge

Barton, Eye of the Hawk

All That Deserves a Name

The Talons of the Hawk: Bow and Arrows, simple hunting tools, become instruments of preternatural precision in the hands of the Eye of the Hawk. No shot is impossible, just very hard.

Exploding Arrows: charged with fire and lightning, these arrows can damage huge opponents, or dazzle the eyes of a dragon.

Boomerang Arrow: imbued with arcane enchantment, this arrow hits from unexpected directions. Respect the boomerang.

Lucky: The dog. Not huge or fierce, but loyal and smart, capable of lifting spirits with a lick to the face, or solve a crime with his nose.

Feats Heroic

Jovial: Jumping and vaulting obstacles, the Eye of the Hawk spouts banter and jokes while shooting multiple arrows at the same time, all hitting the mark.

Glum: In the midst of the chaos of battle, time seems to slow down to a halt, sound disappears, a single arrow is nocked, the bow drawn, the shaft flying silent and swift, piercing the target where it is most vulnerable.

Trick

"Ok, this looks bad": Once per game, when deciding the next Phase, you can make it a Perilous Phase and the Thunder must be something that menaces impending doom to your character.

For the June #RogueChallenge !

For the June  #RogueChallenge !

Going for Bonus Points via a teamup ^_~

Anthony of Stark

All That is Worthy of a Name
Stark Tower - A tower built by Anthony where wizards may study and experiment in the craft of Artifice.

The Arc - a prison made of white gold and Stark bloodline sorcery that replaced Anthony's heart after a mystic accident with his own bloodline magic.

Jarvis - Demon of Knowledge bound to the Arc. It whispers knowledge to Anthony, and fuels hellfire through his armor.

Feats Heroic
Jovial - With quick wit, sharp tongue, and fast quip, Anthony laughs at those without any knowledge of sorcery, and brings searing light blasting into battle.

Glum - Anthony removes his helm, and drinks deeply of powerful liqueur before facing his foes.

Trick
Born in Fire—Instead of waiting for a Discovery or Rogues’ Phase, you may add one name to your list of named after surviving a Perilous Phase with the named. Anthony does this with new spells, or artifacts he forges.

Thor Odinson
All That is Worthy of a Name
Loki - Thor's younger brother, a trickster that gets him in trouble more often than not.

Mjolnir - a short-hafted hammer that was won (in a bet) from two master smiths by Loki.

Feats Heroic
Jovial - With a cheerful roar Thor swings his hammer as if it weighs nothing, smashing through weapons and foes with thunderous blows.

Glum - With a glance to the Stars, Thor casts himself upon the whim of the fates.

Trick
Inevitable Foe—A massive serpent that dwells beneath earth and sea.

Stephen Rodgers
All That is Worthy of a Name
Shield of Stars - a Shield forged by ancient Stark Wizards, borne as a symbol by captains in the Americas army.

Johann - an ancient and foul sorcerer who traded his skin on an altar for power, who froze Stephen for decades.

Feats Heroic
Jovial - A voice used to giving orders cuts through fear offers a plan of action.

Glum - With panther-like grace, and speed borne of years of training, Stephen charges through his foes, shield used as a weapon.

Trick
Undenied—Throwing himself heedlessly at danger, his own courage inspiring all about him.

For the June Rogue challenge!

For the June Rogue challenge!

Ghost Rider

All That Deserves a Name
Zarathos, his former master. The sorcerer who promised him the power he would need to get his revenge, but instead made him his twisted, burning servant.
Vengeance, the name of his hellborn steed.

Feats Heroic
Jovial - The screams of the tormented damned fill the air as his flames roar, burning all around him and vomiting from his mouth.
Glum - The sound of chains slicing the air.

Trick
Unparalleled - Instead of Jovial, Ghost Rider has the tone Hellish.

Yeah.

Yeah.

The June Rogue Challenge

The June Rogue Challenge

Take a comic book superhero as your simulacrum or eidolon, strip the character down, and completely rebuild them as a rogue. Some may require a bit more reworking than others. Some, like Wonder Woman or Doctor Strange, might fit right in. Some, like a Jack Vance take on Plastic Man, might be so perfect they'll give you chills. Bonus points for putting together a three to four rogue party out of an existing superhero team.

Go!
