I know I had put forward the idea of a Saturday Morning Swords session tomorrow. Sadly, I have fallen behind in my writing schedule and won't be able to make it.
I hope others are able to venture forth!

Good morning!
Here's our organizational thread for #SundayAMSwords. All are welcome regardless of familiarity with the game! Comment below if you're interested in playing this morning and mention if you're comfortable being an Overplayer and whether or not you have play Swords before.
When we get an Overplayer and three or four Rogue Players, those players will run off and start their hangout. For now, let's focus on getting everyone into a group. We'll probably wait until 9:30 EST to start the last group. If you can't make that, check back in a few hours. I hear rumors of other games firing up later in the day for those who wake at a more civilized time. If you don't see one, feel free to fire on up yourself.
Use the hashtag #SundayAMSwords should you desire to chat about your game on the social medias. And bring your breakfast or brunch. Adventurers need their sustenance! And coffee.
P.S. Got some tips on how to do this and links to useful files here: http://www.worldswithoutmaster.com/blog/2014/7/14/sunday-morning-swords

Hail the Masterless!
Hail the Masterless!
If like me when acting as Overplayer you sometimes need a little reminder about things like how do I end a Rogues' Phase or which is the Mystery and which is the Moral, and how do those work, maybe these simple resources I created will help:
A page on my website that just lists the basics (check the link).
And there's a link there to a printable "mini-book" you can make yourself with all the key facts.
Let me know if you find any errors in these, and thanks to Epidiah for such a great game!

Blurb: Sabit lives by her wits and her spear. When a cutpurse makes off with a bauble, what will Sabit risk to regain what is hers? What bitter, uncanny fruit will bloom from her thirst for vengeance, or justice?
New chapters will post every weekday. The first story will span the month of November, with a new story starting December 1.

We want to give a big Thank You to all everyone who came out to the first Breakout Gaming Convention and helped to make it a hugely successful event.
It reinforced what everyone in the Toronto gaming scene already knows: Toronto needs its own gamer-oriented convention that’s run by gamers for gamers! The Breakout team is thrilled to be back for our second year with lots of gaming events, designed to give you more of what you want!"

The next sword-and-sorcery tale of Oshala the Hex is now available.
This tale includes the fate of a past love, the fate of a dark future, otherworldly slave-drivers, feats of acrobatic skill, travel to realm of dreams, a cursed graveyard, an ancient tower of learning, a twisted prophesy, close combat on the top of a spire, a people freed of their fetters, and a broken heart.
From the blurb:
A world of dark sorcery—a time of sharpened bronze.
The pale tower of the Academy has governed the city of Lytrops with wisdom and learning for centuries. When Oshala the Hex finds the entire city forced into menial labor and her lover beset by restless spirits, what price will she pay to break their chains?
This is a 6,900-word short story in the sword-and-sorcery genre.

In a Rogues' Phase, ask not to be shown what the rogue does, but to be shown how the rogue's actions have affected the lives of the bystanders.

This is by Rose Bailey, whose excellent short story "Two Swords of Mars" was in issue 4 of WwM. That story was in this setting, now an RPG by Onyx Path. I haven't had a chance to look at it, but it's got that Martian planetary romance I love so much.

A Tourney of Swords
A Tourney of Swords
Join me on this thought exercise: Imagine a televised, competitive Swords Without Master and tell me what it looks like to you.
I'm not interested in whether it's a good idea or not. And you don't have to describe the whole thing to me. Just consider this text from the rules...
"Together you will toil to craft an enthralling short story of sword and sorcery. The game is a fickle one. It will, at turns, aid you in this endeavor and stand against you. Keep this in your hearts while playing: your fellow players are your only true allies.
"All players share a responsibility to the story as both audience and creators. Create rogues that you want to know more about. Fall in love with them. Put them in wondrous and violent situations. And ache to see what happens next."
...and say a thing or two about how you might:
• Keep it fair,
• Keep it interesting to spectators,
• Make it profitable,
• Make it competitive,
• Or otherwise make it sporting.
-------
Here are my thoughts, which we can use as a springboard. Don't feel you have to stick to my vision, but for now, let's assume that it is both televised and competitive.
It's a team sport. Four or five players to a team, depending on the division. One player is the Overplayer, of course, just like you would have a player specializing as a goalkeeper in some sports. The rest are Rogue Players. Each team has their own personal stable of rogues they use, and probably have fan favorites. Like pro-wrestling, fans are at least as interested in the collective stories built around these rogues as they are the skills of the Rogue Players.
It's timed. Just as there are 100 meter dashes, 800 meter foot races and marathons, competitive Swords has different categories of timed games. Perhaps the shortest being the sword & sprint 20 minute game. Then the typical 45 minute game. Followed by the leisurely 90 minute. This allows networks to jump in after each motif card is filled with a short commercial break and keep the games inside their broadcast time slots.
It's judged on technicality and aesthetics. The games are scrutinized by a panel of judges. The judges have a strict criteria for awarding points. Criteria we could definitely start working out in the comments below. The criteria grant points for making aesthetic and narrative decisions the judges found interesting, beautiful and unique. And the criteria dock points for technical fouls where the game text wasn't followed correctly. The technical criteria can be completely objective. The aesthetic criteria should strive to appear completely objective, but will of course be subjective enough for fans to decry the judge's decisions.
It's pro. The relationship between the Swords we enjoy at our table and the Swords we watch is the relationship between pickup games of basketball and the NBA. The latter will clearly have more stringent rules in place to address concerns about fairness, time constraints, monied interest, and the spectacle of it all. And of course, the latter is going to sell you a shit ton of merch.
----------------
Edit to make this more Swords like:
For those looking for a specific demand, roll a d6 and show me what you would want from this as a...
1. ...spectator.
2. ...Rogue Player.
3. ...Overplayer.
4. ...judge.
5. ...broadcaster.
6. ...sponsor.
Join me on this thought exercise: Imagine a televised, competitive Swords Without Master and tell me what it looks like to you.

And coffee.
P.S. Got some tips on how to do this and links to useful files here:http://www.worldswithoutmaster.com/blog/2014/7/14/sunday-morning-swords

“The Mercy We Make”, the first tale of Oshala the Hex, now available.
My first foray into sword-and-sorcery fiction is now available!
I’ve never found the “sword” quite as compelling as the “sorcery”, so the main character of my stories, Oshala the Hex, is a sorceress who has sacrificed part of herself in exchange for magical power that few others possess.
In this first short story, “The Mercy We Make”, Oshala the Hex is a solitary figure who breaches the stoic mountain fastness of a long-forgotten emperor in search of an ancient artifact. The undying spirits within welcome a new, living soul to torment. But who will get the better of whom? Can Oshala the Hex escape where multitudes have fallen? Will her mission of mercy end in triumph, or eons of unending torment?
Check back next month for a new tale of Oshala the Hex.
The first 5,000-word tale is now available from these fine retailers:

One of the most distinctive geographical features of Hy-Brasil on those maps is that it often appears as a circle with a channel (or river) running east to west across the diameter. Stories about the island have circulated throughout Europe for centuries with tales that it was the promised land of saints or a paradise where an advanced civilization lived. In Irish myth, it was said to be clouded in mist except for one day every seven years when it became visible but still could not be reached.

I think I have misunderstood what the game means when it says that anything on a named list is subjected to both the protection and perils of the affordances and constraints. I'd love help understanding further.
Protections I understand, but I still would love to hear more from others about what perils that implies. The main peril I see is that naming something invites others to bring it into the spotlight, which means threatening it with the potential for loss or alteration. Really though, since it is also protected, that mainly means that everyone is encouraged to offer each other opportunities to decide that their own named things are lost or altered. In my mind, that only implies an illusion of peril though, so maybe I still don't understand. :)
I definitely want to understand the peril faced by anything deserving of a name though, since adding and removing items from named lists is featuring heavily in the long-game aspects of my reskin seeking the desperate yet triumphant flavor of Independence Day / XCOM / underdogs vs superior threats / Elder Evils / etc.

Shounen without Master
Shounen without Master
About exactly two years ago, some people talked about how well shounen anime would work using SWM. I'm a little late to the party, but I've been on the hunt for a suitable rpg system for telling satisfying shounen stories for a long while now, and SWM would do it excellently.
The entire game would work, as is (with only some rare genres demanding a swap of tones). I do believe, however, that shonen tales would need at least the addition of Epidiah Ravachol's Ritual of the Ceaseless Tale and Ritual of the Grudge (both from #GammaThrones linked at the end of this post ) as well as the following ritual. Other thematic suggestions for using tricks/rituals/tales/phases follow the Ritual of the Next Power-up.
Ritual of the Next Power-up
In a shonen game, craft your Feats Heroic to not only characterize your character, but also to trace the steps of their developing levels of power throughout entire saga arcs. Since you may only use a single Feat Heroic once per session, you may use this ritual only once per session.
When your shonen is ready to manifest a new level of power, employ one of your Feats Heroic and resolve the dice as usual, but showcase a new aspect or manifestation of your style, form, power, species, gimmick, etc. Boldly announce the new manifestation, technique, or transformation using a unique evocative name, ideally in theme with your character’s other named manifestations.
Cross off the used Feat Heroic, but write the name of the new manifestation on your list of named. This new manifestation is now a part of your identity and available to you in the future whenever the need arises.
-----------
In addition to what I see as the vital rituals above, a shonen game would also likely benefit from the following:
—the World Phase of #GammaThrones , if needed.
—frequent use of the Respite phase, the Ritual of Interlocution, and the Ritual of the Companion.
—Shonen stories should strongly encourage Shonen Players to frequently and freely add elements to their lists of named to enmesh their shonen in vast webs of characters (possibly including frequent use of Born in Fire as an Overtrick).
—Liberal use of Trooping and Scale ideas.
—Maybe use of the Ritual of the Binding Clan/Ritual of Nakama (described below).
—Finally, shonen stories usually need a ritual for flashbacks or other sorts of freeze-frame access to sudden dramatic motivation. This could work as a normal Discovery phase, but it is more poignant if it comes up immediately amidst the dangers of a Perilous Phase, with added dramatic weight of being the thing that makes the difference. Maybe the Ritual of the Backward Glance (described below).
Ritual of the Backward Glance
Whenever you employ the Ritual of the Telling Blow by standing to difinitively cast your dice, you may also invoke the Ritual of the Backward Glance by dramatically highlighting a brief flashback to a poignant moment or relationship in your shonen's, or the story's, past that has bearing on the present. If your roll results in a stymie, Moral, or Mystery, you may record one significant name from your flashback on your list of named.
Ritual of the Binding Clan/Ritual of Nakama
If all players agree, the shonen may be members of a shared crew, clan, family, guild, monastic order, or any other community can write that clan on their list of named. Each individual may remove it from their list, but the existence, culture, and philosophy of the clan itself is protected by the affordances and constraints as long as it remains on any shonen’s list of named.
Each session, the clan and its immediate situation is treated as a thread at the start of the game. Write and resolve the clan’s thread as either a dramatic question like a Mystery, or a Moral the clan aims to instill in its members.
Finally, members of the clan may choose a shared trick for the clan that works like an Overtrick for shonen whose list of named includes the clan. Good options for Clan Tricks are Compact, Undenied (with a Feat Heroic for each tone written for the clan, available to all clan members), as well as Haven, Ill Fate, Doom, or Born in Fire.
-----
As an example of how some shonen stories would work with SWM, One Piece would play wonderfully with the vital three rituals stated at the top, and the story would largely be comprised of Tales of Friendship (same effect as Romance), of New Beginnings, of High Adventure, of Teamwork (like High Adventure but with the Ritual of the Companion), of Wonder, of Fabulous Treasure, of Intrigue, of Pirates, etc. on into later Tales of Dangerous Seas, of Marines, of Giants, of Tragedy, etc.
DBZ stories meanwhile would thrive on the Ritual of the Grudge and the Ritual of the Next Power-up, the method for extending conflicts beyond single scenes (the Ritual of Duels and Dogfights from Starward) and the story would largely be comprised of Tales of Contests, Championships, and Mysteries, with frequent use of tricks such as Born in Fire, Adroit Prowess, and Unparalleled.

Good morning!
Here's our organizational thread for #SundayAMSwords. All welcome regardless of familiarity with the game!
And coffee.
P.S. Got some tips on how to do this and links to useful files here:http://www.worldswithoutmaster.com/blog/2014/7/14/sunday-morning-swords

Good morning!
Here's our organizational thread for #SundayAMSwords. All welcome regardless of familiarity with the game!

My graphic eclecticism has led me to do another play aid for Epidiah Ravachol’s beautiful game Wolfspell. This time they are a bunch of cards to speed up the setup of the game.
I hope you like them! ;-)

This is my first draft of my #200WordRPG supplement which is actually 100 words.
This is my first draft of my #200WordRPG supplement which is actually 100 words. It is an attempt to capture what made the White Wolf game Werewolf good but leans heavily on the idea that the reader knows the Swords without Master rules.
Feedback on whether it is too terse or not very welcome.
Children of Two Mothers
A skin for Swords without Master.
The two tones are Rage and Spirit.
Your character has a human and animal form. Name all that is worthy for both.
Create a feat for each form and one for each tone.
The Perilous phase is unchanged. The Rogues phase is the Pack phase; gameplay is unchanged.
The Discovery phase is the Quest phase, in it the Children attempt to discover the disquiet that corrupts the world. On a Moral, the discovery is ruinous but mundane. On a Mystery, the discovery is corrupt but the characters trust it as true to the cause.

Sunday Morning Swords: 3 April 2016
#OutLikeALionEdition
Good morning!
Here's our organizational thread for #SundayAMSwords. All welcome regardless of familiarity with the game!

This is a game in Spanish at the time of #SundayMorningSwords. We have at least two players and an overplayer, so the game will happen. If anyone is interested, there is still room.

All that deserves a name
The tippler - the great, jangling, rune embossed wagon. Filled with casks, decanters, flasks and dubious yeasts.
Arch spigot - made from the esophagus of a forest troll, it speaks of the brewing processes in a language only completely decipherable by the combined wits of Snorri and the entourage.
Spirits of the Entourage brewers fine - brewers, alcoholics, scholars, skalds, bards and squatters all, these eight fine people of all races once experimented as equals with snorri. Now they are all dead. All that remains is their spirits.
The prayer-bird - a glum reminder that haunts Snorri.
Cask of no name - the container of containers, nameless here forever more.
the stein-stein - stein made of stone hewn from the trees of the petrified woods of Andalheimn.
Feats heroic
Glum
Snorri ponders over many a quaint volume of forgotten brew descriptions, as spirit-kisses rise from his long dead friends with the lamp light gloating over.
Jovial
Opening a valve, the spigot incants an ancestral recipe as Snorri quenches his thirst in a tar-thick brew of over 200% alcohol by volume.
Trick
Compact - “... and we do it drunk, tipsy, completely wasted or with brew in hand.”

Veles Svitlychny, Andy Hauge, i have some questions in addition regarding handling the intrigue phase - after Fastaval i have promised to play some... I mean a lot of Shades Without Mirror.
I may need some help.
I cannot put my finger on it, but to me, it seems as if the intrigue phase has a higher skill level needed to really make nice questions. The limits it imposes are nice, but having some additional concrete examples to show people would be nice.
Since the questions should implicate the punk too, or draw them in, i could imagine that stifling the player. I could imagine the overplayer/Mr. Smith help with the implicating part. Akin to the overplayer helping with escalation?
How have you done it?
-----
For the un-inducted, here is the intrigue phase, copied directly from Andy's vampire post.
The Intrigue Phase
This phase corresponds to the Discovery phase, but is focused on figuring out what your Vampire is entangled in, providing avenues for action.
When you, a Vampire, are handed the dice, roll them and narrate your Vampire coming across some information--maybe they're shaking down a contact, listening to one of their spies, or hypnotizing a mortal for information. Then, ask the Overplayer a loaded question about one of your Vampire's entanglements in politics--either one you've already uncovered, or one you're improvising off the cuff. Something like "Why do they owe me?"
(Tip: other players' Named connections, if you have their consent, make great entanglements!)
The Overplayer ends the phase once you have entangled the Vampires sufficiently to have an idea of what happens next, and it's usually a Perilous phase.

A small preface.
A small preface. I wanted a character that could exist in both a Shades Without Mirror and a Swords Without Master (which is maybe pushing the envelope.) Here goes nothing - normally i like to distill my characters more, but this seems more like a novella that i cannot shorten. Probably a bad sign.
I have tried to challenge myself, combining many of the coolest elements i have heard and seen in swords without master. "Things as characters", "multiple entities as a single character" and weird eidolons. it is fine if this character never sees play - for i think that may well be a challenge. But now the idea has been purged from my system.
Pr.s:m "rose" and the quantum driver
Pr.s:m "rose" is the bio-mechanic core of the grand station "The Satellite Loving."
That which was once one, is now two: the masked quantum driver exists both outside and inside The Satellite Loving, to dance and drive in reverie whomever chooses to be her vehicle.

all that deserves a name
The Satellite Loving the divinely bio-mechanical satellite which floats around earth, containing the true forms of "rose", the quantum driver and She The First.
Inverse Cross ICE - The inverse cross ice is a virus which allows the infected to experience absolute synesthesia. If the infected chooses to fully accept rose, they will fuse and bind, their body and mind reaching The Satellite Loving: Now they may dance with the quantum driver.
White Lipped One, She The First - The Lonely freckled lover of the quantum driver. To be able to spend eternity together, she joined the satellite loving in marriage in its race across the sky. The station respects and worships her for it.
Feats heroic
Overdrive
A cacophony of futuristic tones opens the minds of the infected. Glinting gold races towards to the enemy.

Inside the station, they both writhe and dance, she being led by the newly accepted.

Can anyone think of a reason why SWM would not work in a wild west/weird west flavor with (practically) zero hacking? And would you play it with me?
The only potential issue that comes to mind is gunplay over swordplay in the Perilous phase, but it seems like that could be overcome pretty easily.

I had the great privilege to play SWM this weekend with Jonathan Jung Johansen, Johannes Oppermann, and André Rodrigues at the Danish freeform festival Fastaval. It's normally a larp dominated space, so we were rouges ourselves to play tabletop.
Jonathan and I met at #SundayEveningSwords a few weeks prior in a lightning in a bottle session with Derek A. Kamal, Josh McGraw, and Miguel Zapico. Jonathan and I knew we had to meet in person and play again, and I'm so very glad we did! This international community of SWM fans really is something special to me.

Good morning!
Here's our organizational thread for #SundayAMSwords. All welcome regardless of familiarity with the game!
And coffee.

I'm looking for some help.
I'm looking for some help. I don't quite get the Swords and Sorcery genre. Can any of you recommend movies, series, audiobooks, etc. to help me build more context for Swords without Master?
I specifically asked for video and audio recommendations because my dyslexia has all-but barred me from the fantasy genre at large.

A #SwordsWithoutMaster Rogue

A #SwordsWithoutMaster Rogue
Ok, this character is a bit on overdrive. But i think it may be extremely cool to play, and play with.
The Eidolon is a picture of little lady and the silvered one, the arms of Minai dancing around them.
Atum the gutted.
All That Deserves A Name
Veilripper: The curved dagger with which Atum rips apart the gate to the gods - which recides in his belly.
The silver string: the navel-attached string-and-needle Atum uses to suture and heal the veil.
Lovers embrace: armour made of many bronzed arms holding the sutures. Gifted to him by Minai, the capricious gods with which he has fallen in deep love.
the Gods of the dais but Minai: the endless gods who live beyond the veil, residing between the atoms. he can call all but Minai willingly - for she is the god of uncontrollable passion and melancholy.
This shadowed veil: the veiled robe, flowing from the strings in his belly that gives Atum's lower body form.
Pure-tear bauble: The talking, snarking, sadistic bauble that keeps Atum company.
Feats Heroic
Jovial
plunging the veilripper deep into his belly, Atum summons forth "Little Lady and The Silvered One."
Glum
The many arms tighten 'round Atum's chest in a vicegrip of teary calamity, as bronze turns to onyx, and the smoky form of minai glares everywhere.
Trick
Inevitable Foe— The gods outside.
or maybe
Unparalleled - instead of glum, i have chivalry as a tone.

Let's see if we can hit critical mass - i mean technological singularity.

Here's our organizational thread. Comment below if you're interested in playing friday evening and mention if you're comfortable being an Overplayer and whether or not you have played Swords before. Write at what time you are available, and lets see if we can stitch something together.
When we get an Overplayer [should we call it a Mr. Johnson, agent, AI?] and three or four Punk (rogue) Players, those players will run off and start their hangout.
For now, let's focus on getting everyone into a group, and to find out at what time you are available. It'll probably run 19.00 to 21.00 PM eastern - but lets see when people are available, if people are available for longer, and what we can stitch together.
If you are not in the EST timezone, you can use the following link to compare with your schedule. http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/est-to-gmt-converter

My first Eidolon for Swords Without Master.
Thanks Eric!
I'm a street walking cheetah
with a heart full of napalm
I'm a runaway son of the nuclear A-bomb
I am a world's forgotten boy
The one who searches and destroys
Honey gotta help me please
Somebody gotta save my soul
Baby detonates for me
Look out honey, 'cause I'm using technology !
Ain't got time to make no apology
Soul radiation in the dead of night
Love in the middle of a fire fight
Honey gotta strike me blind
Somebody gotta save my soul
Baby penetrates my mind
And I'm the world's forgotten boy
The one who's searchin', searchin' to destroy
And honey I'm the world's forgotten boy
The one who's searchin', searchin' to destroy
Forgotten boy, forgotten boy

Esle, The Invoker
ALL THAT DESERVES A NAME
The arch-grimoire - a tome containing the 101 invocations of yore.
A wooden flute - a reminder of Esle's youth.
Naime - an crystal mage-prison, pushed slightly out of flux and existing many places at once.
Death's finger - a crooked, bone white staff, lithe and long, that the invoker may conduct the energies. at the end, multiple pearlescent tassels hang.
FEATS HEROIC
Jovial - as the invoker twirls around, blazing ritual signs merge with the already existing as his blood is spilled in a obliterating cadenza of magical reverie and passion.
Glum - the invoker plays a haunting tune as he holds about his waist with one hand and the tune is answered in crystal clear notes in the far distance.
TRICK
Adroit prowess - jovial.
Esle invokes "the heavenly dance of the dimensional clock" as he spreads his arms in dance, the dimensional veil is lifted, and the strange tides shift the landscape. Everything aligns according to the whims of the invoker, at an object of the sky is beckoned to earth.

I gave Starward a go recently.
I gave Starward a go recently. Initially I forgot about the wandering tone but towards the end of the game the tones both informed and guided the game, bringing us to a convenient Fateful conclusion. So that felt like it worked.
The creation rules worked, as they obviously do in Vast and Starlit.
One thing that struck me was that unlike regular Swords without Master, these rogues actually work better with some Masters. The Fantasy Flight Star Wars RPG introduces the idea of Obligation to reflect things like Jabba's bounty on Han and Chewbacca's life debt. Given the lack of a strong kicker I thought I might give it a go if I play it again.

Here's our organizational thread - it may be just a tad late, but let's see if we can get something up and running!
Another one will fire up at 9 AM PST for those who wake at a more civilized time.
If you prefer evening gaming, check out today's #SundayPMSwords by Jon Cole.
Feel free to use the hashtag #SundayAMSwords should you desire to chat about your game on the social medias. And feel free to bring your breakfast or brunch. Adventurers need their sustenance! And coffee.
P.S. Got some tips on how to do this and links to useful files here: http://www.worldswithoutmaster.com/blog/2014/7/14/sunday-morning-swords

I'm ahead of where I need to be in packing for my trip, so I can create time for #SundayPMSwords this week.

Calling Derek A. Kamal and George Pletz! It would be awesome if we could nab that 7-9pm Eastern slot again.
If you prefer morning gaming, check out #SundayAMSwords , I'm sure someone will start an organizing thread soon.

I just finished one exam and I'm about to take another, which has me fantasizing about being suckered it off this world and dropped into another, more sorcerous world. It is a grand tradition in fantasy to feature folks from our works transported to the other. Give me some rogues with 2 eidolons:
1 eidolon is the moment the rogue left behind in our mundane world. And 1 eidolon is about what they have become in the other world.

I'm the type of person that likes to create new rogues for every session of SWM that I play.
I'm the type of person that likes to create new rogues for every session of SWM that I play. I guess I always felt a disconnection from my rogue in between sessions. I always felt that if rogues could grow over time, this would make people like me more apt to play the same rogue in multiple sessions.
At first I thought it would be cool to allow rogues to each bring an element (thread, mystery, moral) from a previous game into the new session. That way, rogues might encounter recurring themes or situations throughout their travels. (Like Echoes of the Past but players choose instead of Overplayer)
Another thought I had was to learn more about the rogue's backstory through play. Each fresh rogue would be created as usual but the players would also create a question pertaining to their rogue's past? These questions would be added to the Threads and Motifs prior to play and could be reincorporated in the endgame. The one stipulation is a player can't reincorporate their own question. Granted, a rogue's backstory question wouldn't have to be answered in any given session, but I think it could be a neat way to weave a characters past into the current narrative.

The Shared Realms
The Shared Realms
I was looking at the Conan RPG Quickstart PDF that's currently making the rounds, and was particularly intrigued by the pairing they make between the different realms of the Hyborian Age and their real-life historical/cultural equivalents (Aquilonia= Medieval France, Khitai= Feudal-era China, Stygia= Ancient Egypt, etc)… I'm thinking this is quite powerful and could be adapted to SwM, to later be leveraged by the Overlord/Players in one way or another. If anything else, it could be a useful shorthand to better categorize eidolons and simulacra, or miscellanies by genre. Which leads me to a bunch of questions: Is that something you would think is useful? Is there something I missed in the rules, or is it something SwM leaves open to interpretation by design? Is there interest to create some sort of community-sourced realms?
