Inspired by Steven Townshend's post, here are my favorite #ToneBones. The first pair are carved from stone, so I don't use them too often, but I really dig how the gray-green die can be Glum, Wolf or Envy depending on the game and the red can be Jovial, Blood or Rage. The second pair I have on me at all times in case of emergency Lore Phase, plus they are the dice I bought at GenCon 2009 for the express purpose of playtesting
Swords Without Master back when it was called
Sword Buddies.

ReplyDeleteThat's probably the safest thing. Nice dice!
I have a set of bone and horn dice that, I think, we used the time I played with you at GenCon. They're pretty low quality dice, but they're made of bone and horn, dammit! Still, I'd like to grab something a bit sexier next time I have a chance to.
mmmm.... gencon......
Drat, it looks as if G+ reversed the order of them.
ReplyDeleteStill chuckling over ..."when it was called Sword Buddies." It set me off thinking of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser as a kind of fantasy buddy comedy.
ReplyDeleteHuh. That is a cool looking ring! Now I'm curious too.
ReplyDeleteWe got them online somewhere. Unfortunately, I do not recall where.
ReplyDeleteThese look like awesome dice! I really like the shades and texture. Bet those stone dice are cool to handle and fun to roll (in a dice tray of course). Thank you for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteI had been looking at some other dice in my search and found links to Roman dice; found a couple links that had dice like these carved from buffalo bone. Would be very Conan to match a glum stone die with a bone jovial die.
